Wildlife Sightings 2008

February
An excellent spell of settled weather gave us the chance to get some early sailings in over half term.
Around a 100 seals sighted, with every beach on Ramsey being occupied as they return to shore for a moult.
Lots of bird activity around the nesting sites Peregrine, Chough and Ravens being particularly active. There were lots of Guillemots about, with Kittewakes and Gannets feeding in the waters around the island and some excellent porpoise sightings in the sound.

March
A very unsettled month on the weather front however there are seals on every beach around the Island for their annual moult and there have been some good sightings of porpoise in Ramsey Sound.
Early nesting birds such as chough, ravens, peregrine falcons very active and the Guillemots and Razorbills are showing lots of interest around their nesting sites. And an unusual sighting of an otter swimming around the back of the island gave us a nice surprise.
